Plot: Thorold Stone’s family was among those who vanished three months ago, and he is still stung by that fact. Since childhood, he has always been logical and suspicious, and, of course, he’s uncertain whether Franco Macalousso is the Messiah he claims he is. Stone works for Len Parker, who runs One Nation Earth, the organization that rounds up the Haters who stand in Macalousso’s way. Soon, however, he realises that the Christians have been framed, and he has been set up. To prove Macalusso’s true colours, he must band with his own enemies - the Haters themselves, led by Helen Hannah.

Dreams of Revelations?

I have included a link to the exact passage that I dreamt about. Now, I don’t want to hear that I’m crazy or nuts, because this story is the GOD HONEST truth.
When I was 8 years old, there was a trauma in my life. I was young, I knew nothing about the bible, or it’s stories, and NOTHING about Revelations. What 8 year old can understand this?? I still remember very clearly the dream I had…
I was young in my dream…and I was playing in the playground at our apartments. Suddenly the air became very thick, and I knew that something was very wrong. I looked up towards the sky, only to see a huge ball of fire falling towards the ground. It slammed through the roof of one of the apartments…All I could do was watch. More of these fire balls fell from the sky…it sounded like thunder when it hit…but I remember not being scared. Watching with fascination as people ran, screaming…Then it started to rain. But I remember thinking the rain didn’t look right. It was red. Like blood. And then I realized I wasn’t getting wet. Actually I looked around me, and there seemed to be at least an eight foot, perfect circle all around me where I wasn’t being touched. I was fascinated, and as I looked back up towards the sky, the sun went dark, and then the moon. And then I woke up.
I AM NOT CRAZY. This is very true, and I didn’t realize this dream meant anything until about 6 years later when I became very Bible oriented. I started reading from front to back, like a book, until I came across Revelations 8:7-12. SCARED me to DEATH. I didn’t know what to think, and I tried telling people…except that they looked at me like I was nuts. Now, I wouldn’t lie about this sort of thing, so I need some expert advice. I let it go, thinking it was a fluke. But now with a daughter, I wonder if that dream was given to me for a reason? What am I supposed to do with this knowledge?? No one will listen to me, so how am I supposed to share THAT Gospel??? Advice?
Let me point out before I begin that you might have posted this in Religion, not Dream Interpretation, but didn’t.
John’s Revelation has been popular material for books and movies for a long time. You don’t have to study the New Testament to be conversant with the end of the world as he saw it. Eastwood’s "Pale Rider" (1985) is putatively one of the four horseman, as was perhaps his "High Plains Drifter" (1973). In "Armageddon" (1998) fiery meteorites rained down upon the earth, nearly destroying it. So did "Deep Impact" (1998) and "Meteor" (1979), and "Left Behind" (2000) reprised the rapture on film. "End of Days" (1999) weaves in elements of the beast and the harlot. In "Carrie" (1976) blood rained down from the rafters, and Stephen King wasn’t the first to employ this motif.
It’s impossible today not to have seen graphic depictions of almost every element of the Revelation of John. The late ’90s were particularly good years for fireballs, so I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that you were born ca. 1990.
Your dream, as a dream, is honest and direct, like those of most eight year olds. Hellfire rains down, but you are unconcerned because 8yo you is surrounded by an 8-foot "perfect" protective circle. That’s the sort of dream you have when something worries you and you want to believe that you’re safe from it. Your dream obliges by showing you something menacing that you’re perfectly safe from. The more worried you are in waking life, the more menacing the thing may be in dream life. What’s significant about your dream is that it assured you that you were perfectly safe even though heaven itself was raining destruction upon the earth. You don’t get much safer than that.
I could point out that your dream doesn’t perfectly coincide with the passage you cited. Only a third of the sun, moon, and stars were darkened, not all, and the hail is completely missing. However, if you believe there is a religious significance to it, then perhaps there is. I won’t try to dissuade you. I do think though that the dream is clear enough without being a premonition of any sort.
The dream meant something. In my opinion it meant more to you when you were 8yo than it does today, but opinions differ. I believe your dream was simply reassuring you in the strongest terms possible that you were now safe from whatever the trauma was that you alluded to.
