I need help finding a new barn?
Okay, so I’ve been doing hunters for the last 5 1/2 years of my life, last year I left my old barn took a year off from showing and got my own horse, and now I’m ready to show again. But, there’s a problem! I want to do jumpers and all the freaking barns in a 150 mile radius of my house are hunter barns with -98654385 jumpers. The only barns that do jumpers don’t even go to rated shows, so it’s pretty much pointless. The only three places I could find that did jumpers that could be a possibility had issues.

The first one is right between my mom’s house and my dad’s house and is about an hour away from both. It’s mostly a hunter barn, but they have some jumpers there.

The second one is about 30 mins away from my mom’s house (which is where i stay all week). And has jumpers, but I’m sure they go to very few rated shows and I’m not sre if their instruction is the best quality.

The third barn is like 45 mins away from my dad’s house and the lessons are taught by a grand prix rider, so this barn is nearly all jumpers. I really like it, but the issue there is the ads say that they do trailer in lessons or they come to you if they live in the area (i don’t live near enough to that barn or have a trailer), but they still might have some horses to take lessons on.

Soo, those are my options. LOL and I really don’t want to do hunters again, it’s not my thing.. I want to do medals and jumpers.

My dad called the first place already and left a message, so they’ll probably call back tommarow.

All the good jumper barns are in the northern region of my state. My section is hunters, and the rest of the state is eventers (w/like Karen O’Connor) and some other really good riders.

Oh and my last option is to just register my dad as my trainer and go to all the shows with him. HAHA (just kidding!)

So, please guys, help me out what should I do?!?!
Sorry there was so much to read, I ust have no one else to really talk to about this.

Robinson Crusoe - Questions?
As much as it kills for me to ask this, I need help with these questions.

I read Robinson Crusoe long ago, but after unexpectedly being assigned to an assignment that requires these questions answered, I come to find that my school neglected to inform me that the class had been reading the book in my absence.

I have 2 nights to complete this, and refuse to use summaries. I’ll enjoy reading the book on my own terms now that this epidemic has brought it again to my attention.

I cannot remember anything, but the basic plot. Is it possible for these questions to be answered?

1. Robinson Crusoe

thanks.

Shame on you for helping the pirate world. I hope all the downloading you do gets you caught and the courts get as much money from you as poss. Why can you just go out and buy a proper copy of the movie or find a legitimate source where you PAY for the movie so you can watch it on your ipod

Let the thumbs down begin…. not that i care!

Should Bush & Cheney be executed for their war crimes?
Or just put in prison for life? The crimes:

1. Lying about the reason for going to war in Iraq, to the Congress and the American people. They said Iraq had WMDs and there was plenty of evidence presented to that idea, no WMDs were found. They then changed the purpose of the war saying it was about Iraqi freedom. Liars.

2. Launching an aggressive war against a nation that posed no immediate threat to our sovereignity. This is against international laws of war established after WWII.

3. Authorizing illegal warantless wiretaps of American citizens. They admitted they did this one, so it’d be a very easy, and serious conviction.

4. Permitting "extraordinary rendition" (read: kidnapping) of suspected terrorists from one foreign nation to another for the purpose of torture and interrogation. Violations both of the sovereignity of the nation from which they were kidnapped, and both international and domestic laws prohibiting torture.

5. Authorizing our own government to torture suspects. Also against domestic and international law.

6. Ignoring the Habeus Corpus laws protecting people in American custody from unjust detention, along with our rights afforded by the Bill of Rights to a fair and speedy trial, access to an attorney, access to charges brought against us, no cruel or unusual punishment, etc. etc. etc. see Jose Padilla for a prime example of this illegal denial.

So, you’re the jury and in the punishment phase, do you say Execute em, or life in prison.

Those are the only 2 choices, neocons (I know I’ll get a lot of apologists on this one, but please limit it to these 2 choices) kthx
dt, blow me.

Liberal asskicker until you grow the stones to stop bypassing your ability to be banned or reported through your obvious glitching (try clicking on his name… "not found" hah) I don’t want to hear any more from you, idiot.
USAfisnu, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Obviously. Did we charge all Nazi soldiers with war crimes? Obviously you’d (well hopefully) agree with me that Hitler’s invasion of Europe was illegal and immoral.
Terran it’s you neocon idiots that have said we have tolerance.. I have no tolerance for idiots like you, or war criminals like your God King George W. Bush. STFU
Jesse, quite right, I suppose they don’t all fall under war crimes… some of these gross crimes were against Americans as well
Nightwind, I haven’t compared IQ scores with public figures (as if that’d be relevant anyway) but I certainly have seen a number of public calls from people with more education than I have to prosecute Bush, as well as many people from other nations.

No, liberals need to run the government they were elected to run, work on important things like the ECONOMY, we had 8 years of Bush, now it appears we are doomed to 4 years of blaming Bush, we ( the people) don’t care about stupid, silly liberal political games , we don’t care about Bush, we want Obama to DO HIS JOB and QUIT whining about Bush, if he can’t do the job, step down and let Bush back in, at least Bush didn’t blame Clinton for everything*************************************************************************************
DukeofDixie | Jan 12, 2010

 1. I really don’t think they were lying per se. I think other people were lying to them because that’s what they wanted. George Tenant and his "slam dunk" come to mind.

2. You can easily make that argument.

3. These aren’t war crimes, but against national law. And, to my knowledge were stopped upon the orders of Federal Courts - so its questionable whether, with their briefs from fascists like the Korean-American from Yale whose name completely slips my mind, they may have an argument against breaking national law - as long as it stopped when the federal courts ordered it.

4. This is either a war crime or a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

5. Agreed

6. Once again not a war crime as it only violates national law.

Unfortunately, charging an American with a war crime is impossible. There are no longer any ad hoc war crimes tribunals. They would be handled by the ICC, to which the US is not a party.
Jesse | Jan 12, 2010

People much smarter than you have tried to consider the accusation and have determined there is no bases. I could shoot down every one of your ignorant accusations but why bother, you wouldn’t listen to them anyways.
Because if you were thorough and diligent, you’d know that Bush gave 5 to 6 reasons for going to war. Yes, the main one being WMD’s and if you haven’t kept up with reality, Iraq had chemical weapons, had the capability of biological…are we really suppose to wait for them to develope nuclear capabilities before we acted ? With the mass burial graves in thier lands, with the disappearing people, 2nd class citizen treatment and honor killings of women, the human rights violations of gassing the Kurds on the northern boarder NOT to mention the loss of thier sovereignty due to invading Kuwait and refulsing to meet the 15 UN councils requirements ? It was the loss of this sovereignty and disregard to meet requirements that gave us the green light to go into the country. So go whine elsewhere, the USA gave the UN back its credibility since the UN was too much of a paper tiger to do what they promised it would. Read the resolution yourself before you come to an international forum and talk smack.
Nightwind | Jan 12, 2010

How about Lincoln for suspending the Constitution and going to war with his own citizens?

Maybe FDR for tanking the whole world economy and allowing the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor as an excuse for going to war in Europe?

JFK for playing kingmaker in Southeast Asia and starting our military escapades in Vietnam?

LBJ for escalating the conflict?

Jimmy Carter for leaving Americans to twist in the wind in Iran?

Bill Clinton for attacking pharmaceutical factories in the Middle East?

…and the wheel keeps on turning.

only for those who have Ball pythons! …..?
I am buying my first Ball python next Thursday, And i want to make sure everything is perfect when i bring him to my new home (new pet thursday, new home Friday! yay me!) I already know that the tank will require substrate, lamp, heating pad, hideouts, water bowl, etc…, what i would like to know is since the heating pad is only on one side of the tank, should the lap only shine mostly on the cooler side, or is it ok to place the lamp over the side of the tank with the heating pad?????? thank you!!:)

here is how i have my ball pythons set up. first of all a digital probe thermometer is a must to make sure the temperature is accurate. use a basking spot lamp (it’s by zoo med). put that on one side which keeps the vivarium around 85 - 90 F during the day and dont put any kind of heating on the cool side of the tank…room temp is fine for that. leave the heat lamp on for 10

Supposedly, for her own protection, Rachel is locked up in a secure mental health facility. But it’s not long before she discovers that her incarceration in the old hospital was no coincidence, surrounded by six other “patients” who, themselves, have cheated death.
should i continue writing my book? read some of it below.. tell me what you think!! ^_^?
As I rest on top of this worn away little stool… DESERTED, cornered by the dark, rainy ally-way. I glare at the little light there is, beaming onto a lid to a nearby garbage can… from the street lights and think of what my life had suddenly become… SHIT. All I hear is the roaring of cars passing over the DRENCHED street, All the way at the end of the brick building that my back leans upon. I bury my head into my knees as i try to remember the events that made my life hell… *leaves rustle softly* i sigh deeply, look up and see someone standing at the beginning of this eerie ally almost directly in the middle… trapping me. I am almost positive it is a guy, hes wearing a cape-like jacket, almost like the grim reapers’, and hes wearing heavy leather boots. I back up as far as I can until I realize a rusty, barb-wired fence was pressing hard against my back. I climb up it faster than I ever climbed something before, but thats not saying much since I’m a COMPLETE weakling. FINALLY, I got to the top! Then, completely out of nowhere I feel his hand heavily tug my soaked hoodie.. scraping my hand on the EXTREMELY SHARP wire I held on to, I wasnt letting go.. well, atleast thats what I thought. I fell to the cold, wet ground, blood dripping from my long thin fingers and I quickly jump to my feet. I reached into my backpack and pulled out an EXTREMELY SHARP Tourne Knife. I held the knife out to sort of intimidate him… after all I knew I couldnt really cut him, even if I could be facing my death. He grabbs the sharp and slightly curved knife forcively from my bloodly fingers "that was STUPID," he grabbs my arm angrily, giving me look of hatred. he pulls up the sleeve to my hoodie and tears of my armwarmers using the sharpest edge of the knife.. "stop! I–" it is too late. he saw. What The Fucking hell?! "you cutt.." he looked at me with an undescribable facial expression, not angry… not happy obviously. i guess nothing really could describe this look on his face. his face was hidden partly by the hood over his head and partly by the close-to COMPLETE darkness. he held the knife so tightly it looked like the knife was gasping for air, and quickly slices into my scarred arm which is slowly getting smuttered by the blood still dripping from my torn fingers. he squeezes my gorey arm and just watches all the blood pour out. his hands are getting smeared with the gore, he doesnt even seem to be phased by this at all!! strange as it is, he lets go of me and holds his hands closely to his face, not touching his white flesh but, almost 5 or-so inches away. he seems to be smelling my blood on his hands. he starts to close his eyes. He starts to lick his fingers slowly at first, but then.. faster and faster and finally so fast he was almost inhaling my bright scarlet blood. he licked his fingers clean and opened his eyes and faced me with a mercilous look. he came closer to me "I ‘m Fury, and I’m your dark guardian" he said this so seriously i couldnt help but to believe him. "i’m f–" he interrupted me, which I absolutely HATE. "you are Firesity"

Sorry I didn’t read it, but you should write it all (finish it) whether people are interested in it or not. If you like the idea go with it, but never quit something you start. I’ve learned that the hard way in that I’m horrible at follow through. But don’t not finish the book if someone says it sounds lame. Go for it
Gods SonFlower | Feb 04, 2010

Need some paragraphs, hon. Pretty hard to read like this.

My first impression is that it’s overly descriptive. There seems to be some action in here, but it’s ruined. Instead of saying things are happening faster and faster, describe them in a way that is fast paced. And the five inches or so. Skip that. Just say he sniffs his fingers and we’ll know how far away they are.

If you have a plot for this story, an ending to it, you should definitely finish. If you’re just writing for writing’s sake, then keep writing this scene until you feel it is perfect.
Franklin, a former Indian scout for the U.S. Army, has renounced his Native heritage and has adopted the White Man’s way of life, believing it’s the only way for Indians to survive.
When indians will be free enough to remove English as the official language in India ?
Merely 200 years of slavoury against 5000 years of aryan civilisation has made indians slaves to english language. When this can be reversed ?

For the lack of a better alternative, I can’t see a reversal in near future…
Hindi is definitely the national language, but no disrespect intended, it is not spoken in all of India. In the form of English, there is at least a common interface.
I really hope to see a reversal, but at the risk of being called pessimistic (which I am not, just practical), I can’t see how…

It’s up to them, they’ve had more than 50 years of independence so, maybe they don’t want to change, they have learned many things from the British including technology. English is the official language of many countries, what is your problem?
Joseph G | Feb 07, 2010

I think, Language cannot be the reason for this.

Ultimately people attitude matters not their language. It is after all a verbal sound to communicate ..right? how could be the language will be a reason for being Indian’ as slave to others?

Even many kingdoms in India had many slaves on their own community. i.e thousand of years earlier than English language and the people.

We, our attitude made our self to ignore our value and fall into the western style. It’s our stand of point problem not the language.

Nothing wrong in learning, since life is the based on the process of learning. Its matter of how we take it and how we look it.

Correct me if am wrong.

Directors: LaDuca Rob

Actors: AnimationFamily,

Is it okay to consider "quality time" to be sitting on the couch watching…?
"Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" together?

That’s all my son will do with me for more than 3 minutes (attention span issue).

What do you do for quality time w/your 2 year old?

Probably not quality time, but definitely quantity time. Quantity time is underrated but often just as valuable. It’s those little ongoing conversations with kids, when you’re out doing errands, or reading books at night before bed, or while in the car that mean so much. It’s simply impossible to make every moment a quality moment, so it is much easier to capture those moments while doing mundane things.

 pdooma | Jan 14, 2010

Any time spent together is good. It doesn’t have to be anything special or spectacular.

Trying to remember back to when they were 2yo… Playing together with their toys was always a good way to engage them. Or, letting them hang out in the kitchen with me while got things done there.
Maureen | Jan 14, 2010

I know that it may seem like this may not be quality time, but work with the attention span that the child has. Work with this, as he develops more interests, and more things that he wants to do then expand from this. I know that it can sometimes be frustrating, but sometimes the attention spans will dictate what sort of activity can be done.

As his motor skills and fine motor skills improve, he will want to do way more different activities that will be easier to do. Some other quality activities that you would be able to do are:

** Playing board games suitable to a 2 year old
** Watching Disney animated movies
** Doing activities to practice gross motor skills such as throwing a ball, or hopscotch etc.
** Playing hide and seek for instance.

Another idea, would be to get a play session, where you’re able to get another 2 year old, and then you can structure and activity and spend time with him that way too.

I hope that this helps you.
mtwaites | Jan 14, 2010

read him stories while he sat unproductively on the potty and then have him keep me company while i cleaned up the mess after he gave up and went to go play?

i think "quality time" is pretty meaningless. any time paying attention to one another is valuable.
desmeran (emeritus) | Jan 14, 2010

YES that counts! You are meeting his emotional need for knowing he’s secure in your arms and you providing his need for physical touch AND you are engaging in an activity with him that is interesting to him.

That is quality time spent, even if it is only enough time to stand a 2 year old’s attention span

I spend time with both my kids (they are 3 years old and 20 months old) doing things like reading, watching a movie, building blocks, painting, coloring, and going on walks.

Quality time is any time spent with your kids doing things that are meaningful to them and you. Quality time has a lot of meaning to your child and is very valuable.
Texas Mommy | Jan 14, 2010

I agree with ‘Maureen’, anytime spent together is good. On a regular basis it can be anything from curling up on the couch in the evening watching a movie to talking while putting away the dishes. Every couple weeks I like to take my kiddo’s out individually and do something special. It’s a day all about them so whatever they want to do (within limitation of course). My son usually likes to watch a kids soccer game over at the park and get a smoothie. My daughter likes to go to the pet store to look at the animals and grab a smoothie.
La Pomme | Jan 14, 2010

My 4-year-old’s bedtime is 8pm, so we start her bedtime preparations at 7pm. She takes a bath, brushes her teeth, and puts on her PJs. That leaves us enough time to read 1 or 2 books and play a game of her choice. I let her pick whatever game she wants, and she gets my patient, undivided attention the entire time. After the game we snuggle up and read her books, then she goes to bed. It doesn’t sound like much, but its the best 1 hour I can think of to give her in my busy day!

Obviously weekends are different.
Seafoam Green | Jan 14, 2010

 For us it’s Blues Clues.

If it’s not freezing out I take them on walks. Even going to the grocery store is fun for them.
Artie Lange Fan | Jan 14, 2010

Can’t you sit on the floor and play trains, or run round the garden together?

No, watching TV is not "quality time together". It’s only quality time if you are interacting. 3 minutes several times a day is fine cathrl69 | Jan 14, 2010

"Quality Time" What a strange expression. I never was one to agree that it is quality not quantity of time that counted. You can’t plan when those special times will happen. The more time spent with one another, the greater the opportunities for "quality" experiences.

With my two year old, and I imagine with most 2 year olds (and people in general), what he enjoys most is when I engage him in his kind of play, getting down on the ground wrestling, or building blocks or zooming cars in the furniture, and his favorite-hide and seek.

If watching Mickey Mouse Club is something your boy really enjoys, then it is quality time.
Aaron & Jesse's Mommy | Jan 14, 2010

I have to agree any time spent together is quality. Doing something they like is best and if he’ll sit with you and watch that, great!! You can discuss the show, look for and count things etc, it is an interactive show. With my two year old we’ll watch something she likes and discuss it " what color is ariels hair?". "what kind of animal is flounder?" etc. We’ll also read books, do puzzles, paint together, go for walks. Etc
Busy Barbie 007 | Jan 14, 2010

I disagree with those that say watching tv is not ‘quality time’ (which is more of an expression rather than ‘a lot of time spent together’) When I was little my mother and I would watch "Road to Avonlea" together…on the tv. I absolutely loved it and would refuse to watch the show without her. It wasn’t about the show at all it was about spending time with my mother and how much I…how much we both loved it. If I didn’t understand something I would ask her during the commercials but often times we’d sit quietly, watch the show, and share our opinions afterwards. That was quality time, not because of what we were doing, but because of the love being shared between mother, daughter, and an interest that they share. THAT’S quality time. If you love it and your 2 year old loves it and you love doing it together, that’s all you need.
When my nephew was 2 I too watched tv with him, it was so cute whenever I got up to go to the bathroom or something he’d put his hands over me and say ‘no, stay please!’ I also played toys with him and ran around with him outside like I was a 2 year old again too.
